    How and when the water depends on the type of plant and soil type and container size and amount of sun exposure and wind. Climate and weather also play their role. During periods of hot most of the plants in your container garden needs water every day, except for clay pots, which require it twice. Some plants, like fuchsias and tuberous begonias, wilt when dry, but geraniums and succulents are not as sensitive to neglect. Moreover, it is good to let the soil dry slightly between watering and irrigation. This prevents the reduction of their land nutrients.

    As the containers without glaze dry out faster, watch them more closely. Wooden barrels, planters, pots and dried more slowly, metal is the slowest of all. Groups of plants in large containers hold moisture longer than the individual samples. A good technique to avoid excessive dryness is to have groups of plants, arranged close together. This allows the container plants to shade each other to keep cool and stop moisture evaporation.

    The best rule is to soak the soil thoroughly when you water and let it go a bit dry before watering your container garden again. Best of all, keep a small notepad and paste the care of each plant in it, so always take the needs of each plant in its fingertips.

    If you go for long periods during the summer, give the container garden serious thought before making it into a project. In addition, you can enjoy both holidays and if the plants are absent for short periods only. The best protection is to put your container garden to a responsible friend. Or if you go on vacation at his second home, or have hired, take the container garden with you as some home.

    Several techniques can be practiced. One is to organize small containers in boxes of peat moss, sawdust or soil, which has been wet. Then there can be method in establishing small pots into larger ones, with moist peat inserted between.
