Water to garden is …
Water to garden is just waste. Pumb into Washing machine is very simple. I connect to washing machine and make the tank empty before another rain come. If the tank empty, but you realy want to water your garden: Than just garden from the tap. Because Soon or Late, you still using water anyway. But in this case you are empty your rain water tank….thanks. I want another tank to save more water….go QLD
Well plumbing it …
Well plumbing it into the house doesn’t work for everyone, but all new houses should have tanks plumed into the laundry.
in brisbane…i …
in brisbane…i connect rain tank to washing machine, not thing wrong. I am going to buy more water tanks to catch more rain from the sky for toilet and hot water system. recently, a lot rain and all gone…..what’s a waste.
Yeah, not sure how …
Yeah, not sure how much it ways, my guess is easily 5-10 tons, if not more!
Yeah, I also live …
Yeah, I also live in Brisbane, this is just for the garden, it is too much hassle to plumb it into the house for us.
That’s bloody low! …
That’s bloody low! Our level has been raising a bit due to the recent rainfalls! I heard that the governments signed the contract for desalination here in Sydney… I think! Anything up there??
Yeah, and the …
Yeah, and the government only started to do something about it when the dams got to about 22%! Yeah they’re building a desalination plant for Brisbane’s drinking water supply on the Gold Coast. It’s about half completed and will be finished in mid 2008. Hope we have enough water to survive until then! But I would rather drink desalanised sea water than ’2nd hand toilet water’, I know that sewerage is not all toilet water, but it doesn’t sound very appealing!
So they’ve already …
So they’ve already started one up there! When?? I believe ours is supposed to be situated at a place called Kurnell further south of Sydney… that’s what I last heard! Even though they talk about reusing sewage waste I still don’t think it’s very hygenic even though they use state-of-the-art technology… sick thought to think that you could be drinking water containing harmful bacteria… won’t be a perfect recycling system!
They started in …
They started in October 2006. But I agree with you treated sewerage is not the way to go. There must still be harmful bacteria in the water after it is treated, and most people don’t want to get sick from it.
Rain water being …
Rain water being used for irrigation?
Yeah, in Brisbane …
Yeah, in Brisbane we are suffereing from a drought at the moment.
Practically all of …
Practically all of Australia is suffering from drought! Hate to be living rural these days!!!
